Renewing Collaboration in Education with SIF and IPA

This time, Indonesia Bright would like to share a story on the renewed collaboration in education with Singapore International Foundation and Indonesia Professional Association signed during the SIFConnects 2016. Please read the following update from SIF:

More than 100 SIF alumni, partners and new Friends of Singapore (FOS) gathered in Jakarta for the sixth edition of SIF Connects! in Indonesia on 28 May 2016. The event was a triple celebration that marked the successful conclusion of the first SIF-Indonesia Bright Foundation (IBF)-Indonesian Professionals’ Association (IPA) collaboration in education, the growth of partnerships and friendships between Singaporean and Indonesian communities that led to the SIF-IBF-IPA collaboration in education being enhanced and renewed for another two years; and the reappointment of Mochammad Nunung Kurniawan (Iwan) as SIF’s representative in Jakarta for a third term.

We are pleased to share with you the highlights of the event:

The four IBF scholars shared their insights from the inaugural SIF-IBF-IPA study visit to Singapore in December 2015. While in Singapore, (from second left) Yuli Astutik (Yuli), Mira Andri Astuti (Mira), Syayyidatik Izzaturrohimah (Atik) and Muhammad Zalaluddin Sofan (Jalal) interacted with Singaporeans and experienced first-hand, different facets of Singapore’s education, arts and culture, and social innovation practices. They were accompanied by their mentors IPA President I Komang Narendra (far left) and IBF Chairman Ibrahim Senen (far right). Inspired by his time in Singapore, Jalal co-founded upon his return to Indonesia Audio Visual to Elevate Society (AVES), an initiative to promote learning in elementary school students through technology.FB_IMG_1467242329030
